The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Genomics (aka, UTMB NextGen Sequencing, UTMB Molecular Genomics, and UTMB Center for Single Cell Genomics) is a cutting-edge research facility dedicated to advancing genomics and transcriptomics through high-throughput sequencing technologies. Our mission is to empower researchers across UTMB and beyond with access to state-of-the-art tools and expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS), single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), spatial transcriptomics, and long read single molecule sequencing.
As a central hub for genomics, the Core provides comprehensive support for a broad range of applications—from bulk RNA-seq and whole genome sequencing to single-cell profiling, epigenomic mapping, and custom library preparation. The Center also specializes in high-resolution analysis of cellular heterogeneity, enabling deep insights into complex tissues, developmental biology, immunology, cancer, and infectious disease.
Our team of experienced scientists and bioinformaticians offers end-to-end project support, including experimental design consultation, sample preparation, data generation, and downstream bioinformatics analysis. With commitment to scientific excellence, data quality, and collaborative research, UTMB Genomics plays a pivotal role in accelerating discovery and translating genomic insights into biomedical advances.
